About the Schubachs
Wolf and Liga Schubach shared 50 years of life together, largely in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Liga served as a city librarian and Wolf as a computer programmer. Wolf went on to establish several businesses, including a programming firm and a printing company. The couple were adamant supporters of their local church, Israel, ministries worldwide, and Devar Emet Messianic Jewish Outreach.
Wolf was passionate about the unique impact that the Biblical text has in the lives of those who read it. Over more than a decade, he translated every Hebrew and Aramaic verse of the Tanakh (Old Testament) three times, typically analyzing 22 verses a day. In this way, Wolf developed his own hyper-literal translation through the painstaking identification and expression of the unique meaning of each Hebrew word from its tripartite roots. As part of his translation journey, Wolf searched out and created his library collection over the course of many years. This collection reflects Wolf’s love of books on various subjects related to the Scriptures.
